Our Office Visit Services

Our office visits include, but are not limited to:During your pet’s appointment, we’ll typically check their weight and temperature, palpate their abdomen, and peer inside their eyes, ears, and mouth. From there, our team will address your pet’s specific problem or the reason for your visit. For example, we may administer vaccinations or heartworm testing if you bring your pet in for a preventative care visit, or we might recommend x-rays if your pet is injured. From diagnosing injuries and illnesses to starting patients on the most effective treatment protocols, we do it all. Our goal is to provide all the care your beloved companion needs in one convenient and welcoming location.

Heartworm Prevention

If you bring your dog in for a well-patient visit, we may recommend starting them on a heartworm preventative. We offer the ProHeart 12 (moxidectin) injection for year-round protection. It can be tough to remember to give your dog monthly medication, and heartworm disease is a year-round threat. A single ProHeart 12 shot will protect your dog for an entire year.

ProHeart 12 is safe and effective. In three well-controlled studies, it was 100% effective against heartworm disease in dogs. It is safe for most types of dogs over 12 months old, including pregnant and nursing dogs and Collies sensitive to ivermectin. ProHeart 12 has a similar adverse event profile to Heartguard Plus.

ProHeart 12 is backed by a satisfaction guarantee. If your dog develops heartworm disease while on ProHeart 12 after being determined to be free of heartworm infection at the onset of treatment, Zoetis will provide reimbursement (up to $1000 and the acquisition cost of melarsomine dihydrochloride) associated with the diagnosis and treatment of heartworm disease. The company will also provide a year’s supply of ProHeart. If your dog tests positive for intestinal parasites (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, or tapeworms) after receiving the ProHeart 12 injection, Zoetis will pay reasonable and customary costs up to $100 for treatment approved by Fremont Animal Hospital.
